Our Philosophy

We believe that every person is valuable and an important contributor to the body of Christ. The Multi-generational Workshops are designed to stretch you spiritually and personally, to encourage you to interact with others, and to contribute to the mission.

What’s Expected

First - please come, please participate, and please try new things when challenged to do so.

Second - please help. This ministry is specifically designed to not be a place where you just come and receive. We think it will be successful as each person both receives and gives. Even though you may serve somewhere else in the church, we encourage you to sign up to greet, work sound, help in the nursery, or help with the 4-6 year olds group on Wednesday nights. We know if everyone does one thing, you’ll only have to do that one thing once every three months, and everyone is able to participate in the workshops more often.

Third - community is a high priority and value in this endeavor. If you see a younger individual who has been dropped off for the night or someone who came alone, please invite them to sit with you and join you for the night.

What about my children?

While the nursery and 4-6 year old group are completely voluntary, there will be some nights when you’ll want to take advantage of those services, and others when you may not. The nights are designed with those over the age of six in mind. While there are some children who may be able to track with what is being taught and participate, there are other children who will not. Thus, they could simply become a distraction to you and others learning. We will leave the decision of your child’s participation up to each parents' discernment.

If my child goes with the 4-6 year old group, what will they be doing?

At this time we are still in need of a leader to head this team, but we plan for this group to simply spend time playing, coloring, perhaps memorizing verses, watching a Veggie Tales video, or similar activities.

When does this happen?

The program runs from 6:15-7:15 PM. We will start on time, so try to a bit early if possible.

Registration

There is no registration necessary.  However, on some nights there will be sign ups in advance so you know where you’ll be participating. These night will be clearly communicated.

What about the fourth and fifth weeks of the month?

We know how busy everyone is, so we encourage you to be with your families those nights, or invite another family from the workshops for dinner and a game. Remember - fellowship is a high value with us.

Can I still come if I don’t have other family coming?

Yes, Yes, Yes. We want you here!

Can I invite other children, families, or older adults?

Yes! However, if you invite a child please accompany them throughout the evening.

Can I drop my kids off?

We strongly desire for the entire family to participate since this is a multi-generational ministry. However, if a child is dropped off we will have other couples watching to invite children to sit with and join them for that night.
