CHAOS!

Sixth graders, commonly referred to as ‘tweens,' are in that stage between childhood and the teenage years. In KidZone, they learned many of the Bible stories and memorized numerous verses.  In SHIFT - Junior High, they will start individual Bible study, and dig into the Bible on their own. The Sixth grade program aims to smooth that transition. Over the course of the year, we cover the main topics of every book in the Bible. Using Walk-Thru-The-Bible’s Book by Book program, the sixth graders learn a keyword and visual for each book to help them remember what each book is about. Sunday and Wednesday are run together as a single program. We call this program “CHAOS." This is an acronym for “Christ, He Alone Offers Salvation." By covering the entire Bible, we are able to show that from start to finish, this is a single story - a story about how God’s love is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

On Sundays we meet during the 10:30 AM hour. Because of the demands on space, we meet in our room and keep our activities more low key.

On Wednesday nights, we make time for high energy activities and games.  Each time we meet, we cover a book of the Bible.  Each week, we also separate the boys and girls into separate rooms and have a “small group” discussion and prayer time.

In addition to Sundays and Wednesdays, we do an activity about once a month. Planned activities for this year are listed below. Approximately two weeks prior to each activity, we will send home a flyer with details and a permission slip.
