Each week God is changing lives at Bethel Church. But did you know that the stories of life change are only possible because of the volunteers that give of their time and energy to help make Bethel possible? On a weekly basis, hundreds of volunteers are needed. Whether it’s holding a baby so a single mom can attend church and hear a powerful message, or being the smiling face someone meets upon their arrival to church for the first time, you are needed!

Volunteering at Bethel Church is one simple and rewarding way to use the gifts and talents that God has uniquely given you!

Below are a few key areas where we are always looking for people to volunteer their time and talents!

Communication Arts

If you love the thought of writing, proofing, adding value by creating graphics and web content then you are in the right place.

Opportunities:

Video Team: Editor

Converts raw footage into final video clips using computer video editing software. Experience with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere a plus.

Photographer

Often called upon to capture candid shots of special events for use in video, print, display, or archive.

Publication Designer

Provides concept, design, and layout of various publications including signs, banners, posters, brochures, flyers, and more.

Graphic Designer

Assists with designing various graphics for worship services, the church website, video projects, or print publications. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator a plus.

Writer / Editor

Provides written or verbal content for church website, brochures, video projects, or other publications. May edit existing content or create new.

Creative Arts

Do you ever see people on stage during the weekend service and think, “They must be professionals?" Granted, they perform at professional levels, but they’re volunteers… just like you.

Opportunities:

Vocal

Solos & backup for worship, children’s programming and special events.

Worship Band

Wide variety of musical styles during weekend services and special events.

Drama

Performance, directing, costuming, props, staging and scriptwriting.

Host Team

The role of the Host Team is invaluable at Bethel Church! Each volunteer on the Host Team plays an important role in making the weekend services possible. More importantly, it is the responsibility of the Host Team to help people feel welcome at our church and serve as a resource for any one of our guests. You probably remember the way you felt the first time you came to Bethel... chances are someone on the Host Team went out of their way to make you feel like you belonged. There are all kinds of roles available on the Host Team, including greeting, ushering, and the parking team. We hope you consider sharing your time and your smile with the Host Team at Bethel!

Kids

Creating the best hour of a kid’s week.

Opportunities:

Nursery & Preschool 

Infants through toddlers -  interact, cuddle, feed, rock to sleep - and yes, change diapers.

Preschoolers - teach, play, read, lead small groups, serve snacks and just enjoy this fun age group.

KidZone

Early Birds/Hospitality:  10:10-10:30 AM Sunday on a rotational basis.  Provides a welcome environment to kids/parents/volunteers. Handles signage for pickup/drop-off. Decorates as needed.  Arrives early and welcome the kids. Checks kids in at two doors. Sits with kids inside to welcome/supervise them until discussion leaders arrive.

Worship: 10:15 - 10:45 AM Sunday on a rotational basis. High energy person who can bring excitement to worship by interacting with the kids, doing the body motions for the songs, and singing.

Teachers: 10:30-11:30 AM Sunday on a rotational basis. Teaches lesson twice in a large group setting; once for younger kids and once for grades 3-5. Interactive teaching is encouraged.

Discussion leader: 10:20-11:40 AM Sunday weekly with an assistant. Creates discussion with kids to assist them with understanding how the lesson could apply to their life.  Partners with parents. Check-out kids as guardians arrive at the end.

Bible Stations: 1/2-1 hour Sunday on a rotational basis. Helps kids learn Bible verses and apply them to life.

Prayer: 1 hour weekly. Works with prayer team to bring our needs/successes before our Lord.

Publicity: 5 hours quarterly. Plans ahead to inform congregation and others of all dates/ times/events. Creates excitement through publicity.

Recruiting: 10 hours in fall; periodic throughout year. Aligns people in their giftedness to serve the Lord. Organizes list of substitutes for each role. Manages volunteer database.

Registration: 10 hours in fall; periodic throughout year. Plans and oversees registration for kids. Assigns rooms for age groups. Plans for security for check-in/check-out (nametags or other), gets information about kids to small group leaders.  Coordinates with volunteer chairperson to manage adult/student ratio.

Students

Are you an adult who totally comprehends the pressures and challenges of young people today? SHIFT - Senior High meets Wednesday nights from September through May – designed for freshmen through seniors.  SHIFT - Junior High meets Wednesday nights from September through May – designed for seventh through eighth graders.

Opportunities:

Small Group Leader

Develop a mentoring relationship with students.

Tech Assistance

Help guide and oversee student tech teams.

Physical Resources

Are you an "aesthetics" person? Does keeping things looking good – and running well – give you a sense of joy and accomplishment?

Opportunities:

Facility Maintenance

Help with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, general construction and carpentry.

Grounds Maintenance

Help with snow removal, planting and landscape care, mowing, and irrigation.

Facility Setup & Teardown

Help by setting up or tearing down after events.

White Glove Facility Care

Maintain an inviting environment throughout all services.

Interior Decorating

Work with other talented people to decorate for special occasions and for facility improvement projects.
